The State of Alabama allows the Ethics Commission to Pre-Certify Activity as being in compliance with the Act or not.
Pre-Certification is the process through which the Ethics Commission can determine ahead of time whether a planned event does or does not
violate the Ethics Act. ยง36-25-1(34)(b)(15)
A request must be in writing detailing the Who, What, When, Where and Why of the function and received in the Ethics
Commission office a minimum of 10 days prior to the event.
