Lobbyists and Principals

The deadline to register as a Lobbyist in the State of Alabama is January 31 of each year or within 10 days after the first undertaking requiring such registration.

Registration as a Lobbyist is now required if your duties include promoting or attempting to influence the awarding of a grant or contract with any department or agency of the Executive, Legislative or Judicial Branch of state government.

Agency Heads and Public Employees of the state of Alabama are no longer required to register as a lobbyist if they are providing and/or communicating information relating to policy and/or positions affecting the governmental agencies they represent. A letter identifying those individuals must be provided to the Ethics Commission in January each year.
